Tailor-made stays in 2027: offer options your teams can deliver

Travelers want to choose the services they will actually use. For rental managers, that means a short menu of options, clear deadlines and reliable preparation.
AI-generated illustration: preparing a tailor-made stay.

Early check-in, an extra piece of equipment, a welcome touch prepared before arrival: personalization often comes down to very practical details. For concierge businesses and vacation rental managers, the question is straightforward: which options can you offer at a clear price and deliver reliably, even on a busy turnover day?

Interpret a signal of intent carefully

In its travel predictions for 2027, published on October 14, 2026, Booking.com reports that 66% of respondents want a package that allows them to remove services they do not expect to use. The study surveyed 28,230 adults across 32 countries and territories in July and August 2026, all planning to travel within the next 12 to 24 months. These are stated preferences, rather than observed bookings or a measure specific to the French market.

For operators, this finding is a reason to review the current offer. Which services meet a genuine demand? Which mainly create work, extra journeys or misunderstandings? The recommendations below are operational ideas to test across your own properties.

Set a consistent quality baseline

Before choosing extras, write down what every stay includes. A clean property, the required safety checks, working advertised equipment and understandable access information form the foundation of the promised service. Their standard should remain consistent regardless of the options purchased.

A guest who buys no extras should receive a fully prepared property that matches the listing. Cleaning between occupancies remains comprehensive. Making this baseline clear also helps teams: they know the result expected for every arrival.

Start with three manageable options

A small menu is easier to manage than a long list of possibilities. Depending on the properties and resources actually available, you might consider:

  • Early check-in, only after validating the preparation window and with an explicit confirmation rule.
  • An additional item of equipment that is already available, checked and suitable for the property, with its installation included on the preparation sheet.
  • A welcome gift chosen from a short selection, with an order deadline and a replacement procedure if it becomes unavailable.

Do not make an option bookable until you have decided who will deliver it and who will check that it is in place. For an external service, check the partner's availability and terms before making a commitment to the guest.

Calculate the full cost of each promise

The cost of an extra extends beyond its purchase price. Include coordination time, any delivery, installation, checking, putting it away after departure and additional journeys. A small option can involve several people when information arrives too late.

For each service, record the selling price, estimated cost and time required. Set a request deadline too. If an option disrupts preparation or requires urgent attendance, its price and conditions should reflect that. The total price and confirmation rules should be easy to understand before the guest commits.

Turn the request into a verifiable task

A purchased option must appear wherever the team plans its work. A simple preparation sheet is enough to begin with, provided the right people can access it and it stays up to date. It should identify the property, date, exact request, responsible person, deadline and checking method.

Include a confirmation step separate from simply receiving the request. For early check-in, for example, confirm the time only when preparation and inspection can be completed. A commercial instruction must never push the team to cut cleaning short to keep an unrealistic promise.

Make the limits easy to understand

Describe each option with four pieces of information: what is supplied, its price, the request deadline and the point at which it becomes confirmed. Explain what happens if it cannot be delivered. Short, clear conditions help guests distinguish a submitted preference from a guaranteed service.

Collect only the information needed to provide the service. A choice between a few possibilities may be enough to personalize a welcome; there is no need to ask for personal details unrelated to the service.

Test before expanding

Run a trial across a few representative properties. Track requests, confirmed options, correct delivery, additional time and complaints. Ask the teams for feedback too: an option guests appreciate may still be difficult to deliver in certain buildings or time slots.

Keep useful options, refine the conditions of less reliable ones and remove those you still cannot deliver consistently. Preparing for 2027 means building a flexible offer around simple choices your operation can fulfill, while maintaining the quality of every stay.

This approach connects with StayClean's role in coordinating cleaning and field operations: keeping the choices offered to guests grounded in the actual preparation of each property.
