Art Basel Paris

Art Basel Paris: prepare your properties for turnovers on 23–25 October

Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais on 23–25 October 2026. A practical plan for preparing access, linen, cleaning jobs and guest arrivals.

Art Basel Paris will take place at the Grand Palais on 23–25 October 2026. For Paris property management companies, these dates are a useful reference point for reviewing bookings and preparing the properties concerned. Arrivals may precede the weekend and departures may extend beyond it, so it is worth reviewing a wider period than the three days of the fair.

In a release dated 5 October, Airbnb reports an 8.5% year-on-year increase in searches for arrivals during Art Basel Paris, compared with the equivalent period in 2025. This figure measures interest on the platform. It does not establish the number of confirmed bookings, a neighbourhood’s occupancy rate or your team’s workload.

Start with stays that are already confirmed

Review your calendar for 19–27 October. This working window is a practical recommendation to adapt to the bookings you receive. Identify properties with a departure and arrival on the same day, those where access still needs confirming and stays requiring a particular bed configuration.

Prioritise jobs according to their actual constraints. An apartment near the Grand Palais with a free day between stays may be easier to prepare than a property further away with a tight turnaround. Priorities should be based on departure time, the work required and the arrival time you have promised.

Carry out a preparation check before 19 October

Use available time slots to address minor faults that could slow down a turnover: a missing light bulb, a stiff lock mechanism, an incomplete cleaning kit or unclear access instructions. Also check the things guests need as soon as they arrive, such as lighting, Wi-Fi and practical information.

Plan linen around the confirmed bed configuration and each property’s actual needs. Identify where available sets are stored and who to contact if a delivery is missing. Keep essential consumables within reach of the team. The aim is to limit unexpected shopping trips during an already tight time slot.

Confirm access and timings from 19 to 22 October

Review the instructions from the perspective of someone visiting the building for the first time: address, entrance, floor, door and key collection procedure. Test the authorised access route, then check that the right team member has the information they need at the right time. Limit the sharing of access codes and remove outdated instructions.

Ask guests for their estimated arrival time when you need it for planning. Distinguish that estimate from the time at which access to the property is guaranteed. If early check-in is requested, first check the preceding departure and available cleaning capacity before confirming it.

For team travel, consult up-to-date traffic and public transport information as the date approaches. Avoid building the schedule around an assumed restriction or an ideal journey time. An alternative route may be useful if a usual access route becomes difficult.

During the weekend, monitor properties at risk of delays

On 23, 24 and 25 October, keep a concise view of the day’s jobs. For each tight turnover, four pieces of information should be easy to find:

  • has the previous guest’s departure been confirmed?
  • has the team member been able to enter the property?
  • is any problem preventing preparation?
  • who confirms that the property is ready?

Decide in advance when a delay needs to be reported to the manager. This threshold depends on the time remaining and the commitment made to the guest. When a delay becomes likely, precise information makes it possible to organise a response before the arrival time.

Keep the final check simple and practical

The final check should focus on the property as the guest will find it: clean bathrooms and kitchen, beds set up as booked, linen available, essential equipment working and access functioning. Assign sign-off clearly so that a completed job is not confused with a property that is ready to welcome guests.

StayClean lets property management companies schedule cleaning jobs and track their progress. This visibility helps identify points that need a decision, while the team remains in charge of organising guest arrivals.

After the final departures, hold a brief review: which time slots were tightest, which instructions were missing and which job durations need adjusting? You will have a practical basis for preparing for the next Paris event, grounded in what actually happened at your properties.
